Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information when you use KitchenSavor:

• Account information — your name and email address, provided when you register or sign in with Google.
• Pantry and list data — items you add to your pantry, shopping lists, and any notes or quantities you record.
• Website analytics — pages visited, referring websites, browser and device information, and download-button clicks. We use PostHog with a browser identifier to understand visits and may record masked website interactions to improve the site. Password-reset pages are excluded from analytics.
• Usage data — features you use, generation and scan counts, and general in-app activity used to improve the service.
• Device information — device type and operating system, collected for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.

We do not collect payment card details directly. Payments are processed by third-party providers (e.g. Apple, Google) and governed by their own privacy policies.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide and improve the features of KitchenSavor, including recipe suggestions and pantry scanning
• Track usage limits for free and pro subscription tiers
• Send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password reset)
• Diagnose bugs and improve app stability

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which is hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is controlled by row-level security policies — you can only read and modify your own records.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and all associated data (pantry items, shopping lists, recipe history) are permanently deleted within 30 days.

KitchenSavor uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage (privacy policy)
• PostHog — website and product analytics, including masked website session recordings when enabled (privacy policy)
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in via Google account (privacy policy)
• Service providers — recipe generation and pantry scanning. Inputs may be processed by these providers; we do not send personally identifiable information in prompts.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict how we process your data

KitchenSavor is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of KitchenSavor after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
